I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website and hope you enjoy browsing through it.

The Friends of Dudley Castle were formed in 1989 but this is the first time we have set up a site specifically designed to respond to our Mission Statement to promote Dudley Castle on a world-wide scale.

The website will never be completed because we hope it will be in a constant state of development, as all good websites should be.

I hope our members will contribute to it on a regular basis so as to make it exciting and up to date. (For more details on Membership see the side menu.)

Meetings of The Friends of Dudley Castle in 2007

The Forthcoming Events section of the web site has now been updated to include more details of the meetings of The Friends during the first part of 2007. Details of the meetings later in the year will be added in due course.

Web site updates

There is now a new section on the webstie which lists all the recent changes to the web site, so that it will be easier for existing readers to find new material. The main changes which have taken place over the last few days involve additions to the pages on The Castle and The Barony.

How the Friends of Dudley Castle began

It was on the evening of Thursday 20th July 1989 that a group of people with a common interest in Dudley Castle met in the grounds of the Castle for the first time to set up the organisation which is now know as The Friends of Dudley Castle. Since then the Friends have always been committed to support and promote the Castle in every way possible, locally, nationally and internationally as a major treasure of British Heritage.

We hope that this new website will enable you to share our interests and enthusiasm for this scheduled ancient monument that has dominated the skyline of Dudley for the last 900 years.
