Campaigning in the Central Midlands
The June Monthly Meeting was held on Tuesday 19th, and was on the subject of "Campaigning in the Central Midlands in the Civil War".
The Guest Speaker was Professor Malcom Wanklyn, who gave a most interesting and entertaining talk, covering, amongst other things, the allegiences of the midlands counties, the way in which social class, religious and other factors influenced people in their support of one side or the other, and the course of the Civil War in the Midlands. We hope to have a more detailed report in the next issue of Ramparts.
